چکیده

abstract introduction moyamoya is a rare chronic progressive occlusive cerebrovascular disease that its manifestation varies from stroke, progressive learning impairment and transient ischemic attack to headache and seizure. there is no known medical treatment and surgery usually is needed. the incidence of this disease is about 1 person in 10 million people and angiographic picture of this disease is very rare, so we  intend to  report a case of 8 years old boy who was  referred  to  psychiatrist outpatient.   case presentation 8 years-old boy with intermittent hemiplegia was brought to our clinic that his headache and medical problem began from 6 years old. stress and excitement exacerbated his condition. his first attack was at the age of 6 years old. during attack he had incontinency, severe headache, alogia, pallor,  claudication and left hemiplegia ( left lower  limb). mra was done and our diagnosis was moyamoya disease. conclusion moyamoya is a mysterious diseases and psychiatrists should consider it in differential diagnosis of seizure, headache and plegia. acute management of this disease is mainly symptomatic. nowadays surgery is a good choice and early diagnosis of this disease can change our patients life. .
